BIOSECURITY AND POWER LINES

ECO CENTRE USED OIL AND ANITFREEZE RECYLCING FACILITY

Location: Town of Biggar Landfill Site

Landfill Hours: Monday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm in the Winter Season (October 1st to April 15th) and Monday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm in the Summer Season (April 16th to September 30th).

THERE IS NO CHARGE FOR THIS SERVICE AND ANYONE IS WELCOME.

Maximum that can be taken of used oil is 500L per person per day.

Maximum that can be taken of Antifreeze is 100L per person per day.

Bring the product in the same container and nothing that is contaminated. There are no drop offs.

NOTE: SARRC (Saskatchewan Association for Resource Recovery Corp.) This company will do an on farm pick up. This would be between the farmer and SARRC the carrier, for a fee) Contact for SARRC is 1-877-645-7275


Make a Payment

The Rural Municipality of Biggar accepts the following forms of payments.

  • In Person Payments
  • Online Banking Payments
  • Mail In Payments

In Person Payments - either by cash, cheque, or debit

Online Banking Payments - The RM accepts online payments for accounts receivable and property taxes. To make an online payment log into your online banking and select add payee and complete a search typing in Rural for the Royal Bank and Biggar for the Credit Union. See this link for the guide. Mail In Payments - Cheque

When paying taxes be sure to enter the amount due for the month you are making the payment this information is on your tax notice. Different discounts apply to the months of September, October and November. If you have questions or not sure the amount please call or email the office.

Municipal Water Wells

Please be advised that the municipal wells located on the NE 10-35-17 W3 and SW 04-35-13 W3 have monitoring units installed. 

To access water, prepayment for water and a fob must be picked up at the municipal office.

The rates are as follows:

  • Ratepayers - $3.25/1000 gallons
  • Non-Ratepayers - $5.25/1000 gallons

Friendly reminder that the garbage and recycling bins are now available at the RM Shop. 

Following information for RM Ratepayers:
Only RM of Biggar ratepayers will have access to the bins YOU WILL NEED TO SIGN IN
WITH THE ATTENDANT TO ACCESS COMPOUND
Located at the RM Shop 705—4th Ave. East within the compound
4 Household Waste Bins—Bins will be marked 3 Recycling Bins—Bins will be marked

HOURS OF OPERATION
THURSDAYS—NOON to 6 p.m.
There will be no access to the bins except on Thursdays

HOUSEHOLD WASTE ONLY IN BAGS
The bins are NOT for hazardous waste, tires, drums or containers, liquid or chemical containers,
appliances, batteries, pesticide containers, furniture, wood, etc.

RECYCLABLE MATERIALS ACCEPTED
* Tin Cans
* Aluminum cans and trays
* All recyclable paper fibers (cardboard, newsprint, magazines, boxboard, office paper)
* All grades of plastics numbered 1 thru 7 on the bottom
* Please break down cardboard and rinse containers.
* If bagging use a clear bag
For other recyclable materials check with SARCAN
For other waste disposal check with the Town of Biggar for information and tipping charges
